“We are delighted to announce that Omer Klein will be taking up a professorship for jazz piano at the HMTM on October 1, 2025. Welcome!
Omer Klein will contribute his extensive international experience and broad skills as a pianist and composer to the work of the HMTM Jazz Institute. His work spans a broad spectrum, from solo piano to big band, from songs to symphony orchestra. He composes for his own trio, for string quartet, as well as for theater, dance, and film.
In the 2024/2025 season, Omer Klein is Artist in Residence at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, where he will present his new sextet, “Omer Klein & The Poetics,” on April 29. He has released ten albums, five of which are on the renowned Warner Music label. He has won numerous awards, including the ECHO Jazz, and has been nominated four times for the German Jazz Prize in various categories in recent years. In 2025, he and his Omer Klein Trio were nominated for the German Jazz Prize as “Live Act of the Year.”
