“Dread and beauty coexist on Israeli-born pianist Omer Klein’s third disc, a musical voyage replete with both Weltschmerz and chutzpah.”

– JazzTimes

Rockets on the Balcony is Omer’s collboration with renowned musician John Zorn, who invited Omer to record for his label, Tzadik.

Zorn wrote on ‘Rockets’: “Omer Klein is an exciting young pianist. Alternately driving and touching, Rockets on the Balcony is a beautiful example of how new generations are taking Jewish Music to profound and unexpected new places.”

The album contains some of Klein’s most loved and memorable tunes, among them España and Hope.

‘Rockets’ received great reviews and was chosen as an Editor’s Choice on Downbeat Magazine. JazzTimes published an enthusiastic article, concluding thus:

“That Klein has technique to burn is obvious. That he deeply feels what he’s writing comes through even during a composition as rueful as the title track. He’s pushing envelopes ethnic and musical here. Stretch your ears to meet Omer Klein.”
